Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries

It is cherry season and we have been dehydrating and freezing them. So far we have dehydrated both the Rainer and Bing varieties which are slightly different tasting, but equally excellent.

It was a busy day and we were working on the cherries until dark.

20 lbs of cherries will yield about 10 to 12 cups dehydrated, depending on how many you eat before they make it to the dehydrator. Did you know that you can make a sweet cherry pie? I hear it is like a pie made with pie cherries except that you don't have to add all that sugar! I'll try it and let you know how it goes.

    Joanna said,

My parents eat dried cherries all the time! A certain amount per day, they say, to help their joints and all. Maybe you should sell some to them!!!

I love reading the blog, glad it’s been updated!
