The Trouble With Wind

Today mom rototilled the lower garden spot, which apparently was still wet. We planted three rows of potatoes, which we shook in a paper bag with some sulfur to prevent the new growth potatoes getting scabby. There are Russets, Yellow Finns and an unknown purple variety. It’s a bit late and some varieties of potato starts were gone.

We also worked on laying out a footprint for a new potting shed we plan to build. It was going well until we needed to hang a plumb line (which we created with some twine and a piece of rebar!). The wind started blowing our hacked plumb line all over the place- understandably causing problems. I told mom that one of us could tie a tarp to our wrists and ankles and stand in front of it. I think we are off to a good start.

The weather is still wet and windy with very few sunny days.
